Shannon's Answers:
01. When I was younger my friends and I would play jokes on each other. But it was never anything harsh or cruel. Our jokes were pretty harmless.
02. I think the "dead baby" jokes that I have heard are the most tasteless. Some of them are just plain disgusting!
03. I like a lot of movies...one that comes to mind is, "Jay and Silent Bob"
04. I am gullible to a point...it depends on the situation and how much background information I have.
05. To the public I am a good sport when it comes to being the butt of a joke. But inside I am deeply hurt by jokes. I get so tired of being "trashed" because I am a redneck. People think I am really stupid and naive and it pisses me off.

Manic Monday - March 31, 2008

Manic Monday for March 31, 2008

What is the sexiest part of the body? I think the sexiest part of the body are eyes! Eyes tell a lot about a person...you can see emotions (or lack of emotions) and you can "feel" how that person is.

If you kissed a frog, who would you like it to turn into?
If I kissed a frog I would want it to turn into a big pile of money...at least a million dollars! Then I could pay off all my bills, get my teeth fixed and finally go on a vacation.

What do you have stuck up on your refrigerator right now?
I don't have anything stuck on my fridge, except maybe some dirt. I have not wiped it clean lately.

Friday Fun: Style Edition

Posted by: http://multifacetedmama.com/FFun/?p=178

I was watching something on TV yesterday about what was “in” or “not in” for women of various age groups. I was looking at the things they were showing as “in” for a woman of my age (I’ll be 38 this summer!) and, while I liked them, they were SO not me. So I thought I would explore style and age this week. Keep in mind that I am talking about day to day clothing, not “club” clothes or anything like that!

1. Which decade do you fall in? 20’s, 30’s, etc.? I won’t ask for an exact age!
2. Do you subscribe to the theory that there are age appropriate clothes? Or can they, in general, span the generations?
3. Do you think you “dress your age” in accordance with the current “appropriate” styles?
4. Are there “young” clothes that you wish you could wear but don’t feel like you still can? Is it based on your age or body type?
5. Do you find that you are more comfortable in your own skin as you get older?
6. Do you have a thing for a particular kind of clothes? Like you love all things cargo pants, or tennis shoes, or T-shirts, etc.?

_______________________________________________________________

Shannon's Answers

01. I was born in October 1970, so I am in the 70's decade.
02. I don't think age appropriate clothes fall into the decade category. I think age appropriate is more of how old the person is that is wearing a certain item. For example: I think it is more appropriate for an 18 year old to wear a tube top than it is for a 65 year old.
03. I think I "act my age" but I don't wear the current style. I wear what is comfortable and looks good on me.
04. My body type (very large) determines what I will wear and won't wear. Also, I am a bit shy when it comes to my body so even if I was a hottie I would not be brave enough to show it off.
05. As I get older I have found that I am more comfortable. I still have those moments when I hate the way I look at that time but I get over it quickly.
06. I love wearing a tee-shirt and sleep pants! They are so comfortable together!

Wednesday Mind Hump - March 26, 2008
http://bdinsanity.blogdrive.com/

Make up your own holiday.
Tell us what day it is, what we're celebrating, and how we'll be celebrating it.

Hummm...my brain needs to kick into gear for this one! What would be a cool holiday?
I know! How about we have a "I Don't Want To Work Today" holiday!

You get the day off, and get to sleep in as late as you want to. When you finally wake up you spend the day doing absolutely nothing! No housework, no laundry...nothing. You don't call the office to check on things either!

I am from Missouri so my Hump Day Humor relates to the "Show Me State"

YOU KNOW YOU'RE FROM MISSOURI IF:

You've never met any celebrities.

Your idea of a traffic jam is ten cars waiting to pass a tractor on the highway.

"Vacation" means driving through Arnold or going to Six Flags.

You've seen all the biggest bands ten years after they were popular.

You measure distance in minutes.

"Down south" to you means Tennessee.

You know several people who have hit a deer.

You think Missouri is spelled with an "a" at the end.

Your school classes were canceled because of cold.

Your school classes were canceled because of heat.

You've ridden the school bus for an hour each way.

You've ever had to switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day.

You think ethanol makes your truck "run a lot better."

You know what's knee-high by the Fourth of July.

You see people wear bib overalls at funerals.

You see a car running in the parking lot at the store with no one in it no matter what time of the year.

You know in your heart that Mizzou can beat Nebraska in football.

You end your sentences with an unnecessary preposition. Example: "Where's my coat at?" or "If you go to the mall I wanna go with."

All the festivals across the state are named after a fruit, vegetable, or grain.

You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked.

You think of the major four food groups as beef, pork, beer, and Jell-O salad with marshmallows.

You carry jumper cables in your car and know that everyone else should.

You know what "cow tipping" or "Possum Kicking" is.

You only own 3 spices: salt, pepper, and ketchup.

You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.

You think everyone from a bigger city has an accent.

You think sexy lingerie is tube socks and a flannel nightie.

The local paper covers national and international headlines on one page but requires 6 pages for sports.

You think I-44 is spelled "foarty-foar."

You think that deer season is a national holiday.

You know which leaves make good toilet paper.

You find 105 degrees F "a little warm".

You know all 4 seasons: Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer, and Construction

You know if another Missourian is from eastern, middle or western Missouri as soon as they open their mouth.

You think "frog gigging" should be an Olympic sport.

You've ever tried to use a butter knife to cut the summertime air to get some relief.

You think Imo's is larger than Pizza Hut.

You failed world geography in school because you thought Cuba, Versailles, California, Nevada, Houston, Cabool, Louisiana, Springfield, and Mexico were cities in Missouri.

You actually get these jokes and forward them to all your Missouri friends.

TMI Tuesday - March 25, 2008

TMI #128: http://tmituesday.blogspot.com/2008/03/tmi-128.html

1. Stubble... good or bad? How often do you shave?
2. If someone shoves you up against a wall while kissing you, your reaction is?
3. Did you ever own a fake ID?
4. Have you ever played a game which may require you or others to disrobe?
5. Have you ever had sex in the snow? Rain?

Bonus (as in optional): Tell us about your last boyfriend/girlfriend?

____________________________________________________________

Shannon's Answers:
01. Stubble is good depending on where it is located :). I shave my arm pits and legs weekly and my ummm personal area a few times per year.
02. It would depend on the person...if it was my boyfriend I think it would turn me on. If it wasn't him then I would punch that person in the face.
03. I have never owned a fake ID. I never needed one.
04. I have played Strip Poker before and Strip Twister.
05. I have had sex in the snow (It was freezing) and in the rain (very romantic) but that was in my younger days.

Bonus:
My last boyfriend was a big man. We dated for a year or so...he lived 5 hours away from me so we only saw each other on weekends. He wasn't that bad of a person...he just wasn't the right man for me. I really don't think he was prepared for a "ready made" family. Plus, he was a little possessive...and I don't like that. So, we called it quits and moved on.

Question of the Week - March 24, 2008

Question of the Week is…
Do you believe in good luck charms? Do you have one?

Shannon's Answer:
Growing up I was convinced that my lucky rabbits foot was a necessity to life. But as I got older I found that it didn't really help me all that much. I no longer carry the rabbits foot or any other good luck charm. Good luck will come my way with or with out one.

Saturday 9 - March 22, 2008

1. When you go to a restaurant do you tip better if the waitress is good-looking?

No, I am not worried about how they look. I am more worried about how many times they refill my drink and how polite they are.

2. Have you ever asked anyone to turn off their cellphone in public because it bothered you?

Yes! Because we were in the doctor's office in the waiting room and that person was disturbing several of us.

3. Is your noon meal called "lunch" or "dinner?"

Here in Missouri, USA we call our noon time meal, "lunch". Dinner is usually around 5:30pm.

4. Do you generally make reservations first?

No. I prefer not to go to a restaurant that require a reservation.

5. Do you ask for a booth or a table?

It depends on the restaurant, but I usually ask for a booth. Booths tend to be more comfortable to sit in.

6. Do you ask for a doggie bag?

No. I have no use for leftovers LOL

7. Would you complain to the management if there were children crying nearby?

Again, this would depend on the restaurant I was in. It would take a lot of crying for me to say something.

8. Have you ever sent food back?

Yes! Many times I have sent back a steak because it was not done the way I wanted it.

9. Do you find servers singing "Happy Birthday" cute or annoying?

If it is happening to me, I find it annoying. If it is for someone else, it is cute.

Friday Fun: Spring Edition

Friday Fun: Spring Edition

Spring is here, finally, although in my neck of the woods, we are expecting snow and are under a winter weather advisory! So this week, we are all about spring fever!

1. Does your household do spring cleaning?
2. Do you approach spring with joy for all the newly growing things and the sight of grass, or does it just scream MUDDY FLOORS AND MOPPING?
3. Do you have a garden that you will be planting and, if so, what do you plant?
4. What is your favorite thing about springtime?

____________________________________________________________

Shannon’s Answers:

01. I don’t like to clean! LOL It doesn’t matter what season it is. BUT our garage really needs a good cleaning. Maybe I can talk my son into doing it.

02. Spring is a great season! I approach spring with a smile. I love all the new smells and flowers blooming.

03. I would love to have a garden but we don’t have room for one. So, if I plant anything it will have to be in flower pots or window boxes...probably tomatoes.

04. My favorite thing about springtime is all the "newness"! I love the newly blossomed flowers and the budding trees...all the awesome smells.
