Welcome to The Queen's Meme!  Each week, The Queen will ask Seven Royal Questions for the loyal subjects to read.  This week's questions (and my responses) are:

1. Political ticker: Santorum said "bull***t" on the campaign trail. Do you think this was necessary?  I doubt that it was necessary.  You don't need to curse in order to make a point.

2. Entertainment: How hungry are you for The Hunger Games? Not really

3. What is trending on the blogging front is the death of blogging. Do you agree? And if so, have you made funeral arrangements for your blog? No, I do not agree that blogging is dying. But if and when it does I will still be trudging on with my blogs.  I may, at one point consolidate my blogs but we shall see.

4. Facebook: Do you like the new timeline?  I am learning to tolerate.

5. Nationally: The tragic Trayvon Martin story and vigilante Neighborhood Watch citizens with guns ready to shoot anything that moves. Do you think we should have Neighborhood Watch groups?  Sure, we should have Neighborhood Watch groups. Those groups need to be trained and learn to handle things without weapons.

6.  Tweeters on Twitter are currently discussing the #IWasStupidEnoughTo hashtag.  What were you stupid enough to do? Do tell.  I was stupid enough to marry my first husband, Richard...he was such an asshat.

 7. On the Health Watch: Did you know that popcorn is full of antioxidants? Now that it's healthy, will you still eat it?  But of course...with lots of butter please.

8. (The Queen says we shall answer 8 questions this week.  So  in order to avoid the dungeon I will answer all 8!) The whole world is freaking out about fracking. Can you explain it to me?

Well, I am part of the whole world and I am not freaking out about fracking.  There seems to be a few different ways to describe it (image that!).  Thinking about it gives me a migraine.

1. What movie or movies do you have to watch when they are on TV? Gone With The Wind, Twister, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and The Wizard of Oz.

2. When you have out of town visitors, what fun places do you take them to in your town? I have not had out of town visitors since I moved to Wisconsin.  But when I do finally get out of towners I will take them to "The House on the Rock" in Spring Green,Wisconsin.

5. What is your dream job?  In high school I wanted to be a computer programmer for the United States Air Force.  Now that I am 41, I just want to retire.

BlogBlast4Peace 2012 (Another Not So Wordless Wednesday)

Just a reminder that the next BlogBlast4Peace is happening on November 4, 2012.  Get your peace globes ready!

What is BlogBlast4Peace? Well, a small group of bloggers answered a challenge Mimi at Mimi Writes tossed one angst-filled October day in 2006. Mimi wanted to know what would happen if all bloggers everywhere signed their name across a globe and all posted the SAME POST on the SAME DAY.  Mimi created a graphic and made the first one.  Mimi asked them to write "Dona nobis pacem" which is Latin for "grant us peace" across the graphics image and post it on their blogs in November. Fifty-two people responded enthusiastically and soon it began to spread like a beautiful lyric across the internet.

Mimi started the Internet's first ever online movement of this kind which moves from blog to blog and continues to grow. There is something magical about the peace globes. Something that can't be explained.

1. Breakfast literally means "breaking the fast" of the night. What is your favorite cereal? I love Marshmallow Mateys.

2. Brunch is typically eaten between breakfast and lunch. When is the last time you brunched?   Last weekend, hubby and I had a late breakfast that could be considered brunch.

3. In the castle we call it luncheon. The prisoners downstairs in the dungeon call it horrible lunch. Do you eat lunch at the same time everyday? What is your favorite sandwich?

No, I don't eat lunch at the same time every day.

My favorite sandwich is a Club (ham, roast beef, turkey and bacon).  I really like the one's from Subway.

4. What is the difference between dinner and supper? I think of dinner as a big meal with lots of food and calories.  I see supper as a smaller, lighter meal of the day...like having a salad.

5.  What time do you generally "take tea" in your abode?  I always have something to drink near me (Diet Pepsi mostly, Sweet Iced Tea, Ginger Ale or water).

6.  A "cuisine" is typically influenced by and named after geographical regions and cultures. Pretend your blog is a country. What is the name of your cuisine?  Shannon's Southern Succotash...guaranteed to make you fat.

7. This is a good food display from the National Institute of Health and Human Services. What is the one healthy food item (from the photo below) that is lacking in your diet?

Fish. I don't eat fish very often and I never cook it at home (it makes the house stink).

1. Are you in a job that you truly enjoy? There are days when I truly do enjoy my job and those days are what keeps me going back each day.

2. If you could do any job in the world what would it be? Retired...I think I would be really good at that.

4. When it comes to spending time with those you love, do you think it should be about quality or quantity? The more time I can spend with my loved ones the better but I want that time to be good for us.  If we spend the entire time arguing then everyone leaves in a bad mood. Then who know when you will see each other again.

5. Is there a job/career you wanted but realized you couldn’t possibly do for one reason or another? I could not be a First Responder. Hats off to those folks for the job they do.

6. If you could live anywhere in the world or out of this world where would you live? In this world...Hawaii or Ireland.  Out of this world...Jupiter.

7. Where would you most like to visit and who with? I would like to go see my brother and take my husband, son and dogs with me.

8. Which skill would you like to learn? The ability to be immune to bull shit.

10. What are you looking forward to tomorrow? Coming home after a long day at work to take a shower and go to bed.

11. What is your sign and do you believe in horoscopes etc? I am a Libra and I read horoscopes. I am just not sure how true they are sometimes.

12. If you could change one thing about your life thus far, what would it be? I would have never married Richard (my ex-husband).  He was such a fucktard.

13. If there was one charity you could give a huge contribution to, which charity would it be and why?  I would give to one that helps animals, like the Humane Society or one of the many animal rescues organizations out there.

14. Should smoking be legal? Smoking is legal unless you are talking about marijuana.  If you are talking about marijuana, then yes it should be legal and no I do not smoke it.  I also don't smoke cigarettes and keeping cigarettes legal is a good thing.

15. What are your views on the smoking ban in public places? As I stated above, I don't smoke.  But I don't think there should be a ban on smoking in public places. Especially in bars. Folks go to places to relax and if smoking is part of their relaxing then let them do it.  However, I do think there should be separate areas for smokers and non-smokers in public places.

16. Why do you blog? To meet new people around the world and to participate in meme's.

17. Do you have a favorite author?  I have several.  James  Patterson, Dean Koontz, Dan Brown, John Sanford and Stephen King to name a few.

18. Can you play any musical instruments? I use to play the organ but I have not played in years. I think I can still remember how to play "God Save The Queen" though.

19. What would your ideal car be?  A 1964 1/2 Mustang

21. What do you look for in a spouse/other half? I look for someone that is honest, trustworthy and faithful.

22. Worst meal you’ve had? I was served a rotten steak once at a major chain restaurant.  The manager refunded our money for the entire meal and drinks but denied anything was wrong with the steak.  I never went back and never will.

23. What do you do to relax in the evening? Play video games, hang out on Facebook, read, watch movies, and sleep.

24. Do you get along with your siblings?  I only have one brother and we get along just fine...most of the time.

25. Do you have any regrets? I have a few regrets but at the time the decisions were right.
