Booking Through Thursday: Manual Labor Redux

Scenario: You’ve just bought some complicated gadget home . . . do you read the accompanying documentation? Or not?
Do you ever read manuals? How-to books? Self-help guides? Anything at all?

If I had just purchased a complicated gadget I would skim over the accompanying documentation before I began using it. Then I would try out the gadget and leave the documentation on the table.

I usually don't read manuals throughly...just skim through them, picking out the important topics to read about. I like reading how-to books and self help guides, especially if they are career, health or game related. I also like to read books by Stephen King, John Sandford, Tom Clancy, Dean Koontz and Jeffrey Deaver.
