Let's talk about books this week.
1. What are you currently reading? If you're not reading anything right now, what was the last book you read?
2. Where is your favorite place to get your books from?
3. Name a book you read and did not enjoy.
4. How has your taste in books changed over the years? What types of books do you read now as opposed to five years ago?
5. When you walk into your favorite bookstore, where do you go? Mystery...Romance...Latest Releases....Non-Fiction...etc?
I am currently reading "Out of Control" by Suzanne Brockmann. The last book I read was "The Good Guy" by Dean Koontz. My favorite place to get books is Barnes and Noble or Amazon.com. I also purchase books from rummage sales, thrift stores, Good Will stores, Wal Mart, gas stations and other places.
One book that I read and did not enjoy was "Scarlett: The Sequel to Margaret Mitchell's "Gone With the Wind" by Alexandria Ripley. I did not like the movie either. I think the book would have been much better if it had been written by Mitchell (before she passed away).
My tastes in books has not changed through the years I still read the same types a books and even most of the same authors as I did 5, 10, 15 years ago. When I walk into my favorite bookstore I visit the magazine section first to look for variety crossword books then I head to the Stephen King section.

I was disappointed with 'Scarlett', too. 'Gone With The Wind' is one of my favorite books and movies, so I had really wanted 'Scarlett' to be great, too. I guess 'Gone With The Wind' is just too big of an act to follow.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you about 'Scarlett'. 'Gone With The Wind' is such a classic (book and movie) that people hoped for MUCH better. I didn't see the movie of 'Scarlett' though.
ReplyDeleteTuppence...I think so too.
ReplyDeleteMonica...The movie isn't much better.
I like to pretend the movie sequel to GWTW, 'Scarlett' doesnt exist...lol. I havent read the second book, but watched the movie and was dissapointed. GWTW is one of my favs.
ReplyDeleteI read The Good Guy and enjoyed it :)
have a good week.
