It does not seem to be true that work necessarily needs to be unpleasant.
It may always have to be hard, or at least harder than doing nothing at all.
But there is ample evidence that work can be enjoyable, and that indeed,
it is often the most enjoyable part of life.

Work is always better if you love your job. Especially if it's something you have to do day in and day out.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Barbara on this one.

I don't know about you guys, but doing nothing at all is hard for me - I go crazy - I love hard work and the sense of accomplishment that goes with it.
ReplyDeleteI loved Csikszentmihalyi's book. This reminds me to be in the moment (the flow as he calls it) and be aware that even when my work raising our children and taking care of our home seems hard, it really is something I've chosen and love doing :)
