Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions/goals for the year and will you make/set more for next year? What are they? What are your new ones? I did not make any New Year's Resolutions and I do not plan to make any this year.
Did anyone you know give birth? Or become pregnant? Or adopt? I know a few ladies that gave birth, and a few that are pregnant. I do not know of anyone that adopted a child.
Did anyone you know die? Or have a serious illness/injury? I lost several relatives and friends this year, nearly all of them to cancer. I also know a few that are currently dealing with serious injuries and/or illness.
What places have you visited? I went out of state a few times for business.
Any new pets? Lost a pet? No new pets and I have not lost a pet this year.
What would you like to have next year that you lacked this year (doesn't have to be a physical thing i.e. love, job security, peace of mind...)? To see my family more.
What date from last year will remain etched in your memory and why? November 8th...it was my son's 26th birthday, which was the 3rd birthday he was not here with me for us to celebrate his day.
What was your biggest achievement last year? My job promotion.
Did you get sick or injured? I twisted my knee last month, hurt my arm a few weeks ago and had the flu earlier this year.
What was the best thing you bought? My new Jeep.
Where did most of your disposable income go (money leftover after you pay for food, medical care, basic clothing, transportation and shelter)? Video games, books, dog treats.
What song will always remind you of last year? Doesn't have to be a song released last year. The Sound of Silence by Disturbed. I listen to it every day.
What do you wish you would have done less of? Less worrying.
What was your favorite new TV program? Movie? Album/Songs? Or if you didn't pick up any new ones, what are you still watching/listening to? Any recommendations? I enjoy the Imagine Dragons, and Disturbed. I recommend the new Disturbed album titled, "Evolution".
What was the best book you read this year? How many did you read? I have read at least 40 books this year. (I need to get them all added to my Goodreads account). None of them stood out as being the best book of the year though.
What did you do on your birthday and how old were you? Did you feel differently? I turned 48 on my birthday. I didn't do anything special. I feel different with every birthday I celebrate. I don't want to get older, it just puts me one step closer to death. Death scares me. I do NOT want to die...ever.
What political or social issue stirred you the most? The whole Me Too movement.
Who was the most interesting new person you met? No one I can think of.
What changed at your job? I got a raise and my own office.
What changed in your home? I got a newer Jeep and my husband got a new truck to drive.
Describe how a relationship changed. Death changes any relationship.
Do you think you are still the same person that you were at the beginning of the year? How so? I am not the same person I was at the beginning of the year. I become more and more quiet as the days pass, and tend to stay lost in my head.
Summarize the year in three words or less. Bonus points for doing it in one word. Explain. Depressing. Too many family members and friends are dying. I feel like my childhood memories are being ripped away.
How have people around you changed? People seem to be more distant, which I noticed started right after the death of my son.
What have you learned throughout the year? I learned (again) that not everyone has the same heart I have.
What was your favorite outfit for warm weather? Cooler weather? Sweat shirt, sweat pants and thick socks when it id cold out. For warm weather I like a thin tee-shirt, thin slack type pants, no shoes and no socks.
Did you learn any new crafts or techniques? What was your favorite thing you made? I did not learn any new crafts or techniques. Favorite thing I made....homemade mac & cheese.
What changed about your physical appearance? I have more gray hair and I am fatter.
What are your hopes and dreams for the new year? More time with family, travel more.
Congratulations on all of the success with your job! That is great!
